Bear Creek Stables Trail Rides

We are proud to celebrate our 26th anniversary, including our 12th season partnering with the City of Lakewood to offer incredible trail rides set in the scenic foothills of Lakewood, Colorado at Bear Creek Lake Park.

Horse Rentals

At our Stable located in Bear Creek Lake Park we can accommodate small or large groups for horse rides with miles of trails set in over 2600 acres of beautiful parkland with its natural habitat, preserves and wildlife. This experience is good family fun and a great adventure.
Note: If you have a child with special needs we can accommodate you with our trained Wranglers and experienced Staff to help make this a special day for your family.

MS Carol's Grill

From Buffalo Burgers to Brats, Ms Carol’s got it all. Conveniently located at the Stable, she has won the hearts and stomachs of many visitors to the Park and at the Stables. A colorful character of wit and wisdom, Ms. Carol will share great food and conversation with all! Popular with the many Wranglers & Volunteers we all look forward to the summer season. So “get on over” for lunch or a ice cold drink before or after your trail ride or visit to the Park.

First Time Riders

Our Wranglers will teach you the tricks to riding horses. The horses that we use are well trained and well behaved. We take first time riders all the time. If you are a first time rider, come join us and let us show you how much fun riding can be.

What to expect

Rides run every day starting April 15th through Sept. 31st. You will arrive at the park and drive to our checkin office at the Stable. There you will read and sign our waiver. We will inroduce you to your guide who will take you on your ride. Your guide will give you a safety briefing, find out about your riding skill, give you some riding tips as necessary and introduce you to your horse. What to Bring
Please dress in layers as these trail rides are in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Weather can move in quickly so dress in layers to stay warm. Jeans are best and if possible boots with a large heel. You are welcome to bring your own riding helmet or if you like, we can provide one for your ride. Helmets are not required. A windbreaker or light rain coat is also a good idea to bring along. Do not forget to apply sunscreen before your ride, drink lots of water so that you are hydrated and if necessary, eat a snack so that you will not get hungry on your ride. Sunglasses with eyeglass cord is a good idea to have along and do not forget the camera.

Tipping your Guide
Tipping of your guide is not required. If you receive a great ride with professional service, you may want to tip your guide. The amount of what you might tip your guide could follow your regular tipping practices for a nice dinner. Let you conscious be your guide. Your guide will appreciate a tip for a great ride.
