Lower Animas River Class II-III
A perfect Durango activity thats fun for the whole family. The Lower Animas offers fun and easy rapids all Summer - unless you arrive during peak runoff. In that case be prepared for plenty of excitement!
We offer many outstanding choices for the busy traveler, including a 3 hour raft trip and 3 hour inflatable kayak trips. Check out our Upper Animas trips for longer and more challenging trips.
A Great way to spend the day. No trip to Durango is complete without a float down the Lower Animas. Perfect for churches, schools, families, couples, tourists and locals alike. Feeling adventurous? When conditions allow we will break out the inflatable kayaks for the thrill seekers in your group.
What should I bring?
* Swimsuit or quick-dry clothing.
* Water bottle (optional).
* Shoes or sandals that can get wet (no flip flops please).
* Sunscreen and sunglasses with strap.
* Sleeping bag for overnight trip.
What is provided?
* Self-bailing boats, paddles, life jackets.
* Splash jacket and/or wetsuit as needed.
* River shoes on full day or longer trips.
* Helmet as needed.
* Drinking water.
* Free parking and transportation.
* Tent and pad on overnight trips.
* Full paddling suits available on expert trips for your safety and comfort!
Should I tip my guide?
* Tips are encouraged for professional service (5 to 15% is common).
Season
The Animas River is a free-flowing river which depends on snowpack. The river runs all Summer. High water and excitement occurs in May and June with lower flows and easy rapids later in the Summer.

We have 3 meeting times, 9:45am, 12:45pm, and 3:45pm for 3 different launch times.
Raft: Ages 4-84!

Inflatable Kayak Lower Animas River, Durango, CO
This option is for the person who likes to drive. You paddle your own inflatable kayak through the rapids on the Lower Animas river in Durango. Single and Tandem boats available. Your guide will lead the way and keep an eye on you, but you are the one in control (or out of control).
Inflatable Kayak space is limited, so reservations are recommended. If one is available you can 'decide when you arrive' as well. Experience is not necessary, but helps. Offered July through Labor Day.
No additional charge for wetsuits. Wetsuits are available as needed depending on the time of year. Wetsuits are not need after May.

Meeting Place: How to find Four Corners Whitewater

We are co-located with Four Corners River Sports and are opposite the Office Depot on Hwy 160 on the South Side of Durango.
Refund Policy
If we cancel a trip or deny you passage for any reason, you will receive a full refund. We will also refund your raft trip payment minus a 5% processing fee if you cancel at least 7 days prior to your scheduled trip. Within 7 days of the trip date, your trip is non-refundable.
